Staff Sergeant Matthew Vail Thompson, 28, of Brookfield, Wisconsin, was a U.S. Army Special Forces soldier. He was killed in action on August 23, 2016, in Chianjir Village, Afghanistan.

Staff Sergeant Adam Samuel Thomas, 31, of Takoma Park, Maryland, was a U.S. Army Special Forces soldier. He died on October 4, 2016, in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, from hostile enemy action.

U.S. Army Sergeant Douglas James Riney, 26, of Fairview, Illinois, was killed in a hostile incident in Kabul, Afghanistan, on October 19, 2016.

Staff Sgt. Mark Rochetto De Alencar, 37, of Edgewood, Maryland, was a U.S. Army Special Forces soldier. He was killed by enemy small-arms fire during a combat operation in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, on April 8, 2017.

Sgt. Joshua Patrick Rodgers, 22, of Bloomington, Illinois, was a U.S. Army Ranger killed in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, on April 27, 2017.
