Sgt. 1st Class Mihail Golin, 34, of Fort Lee, New Jersey, was a U.S. Army Special Forces soldier assigned to the 10th Special Forces Group. He was killed by enemy small-arms fire in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, on January 1, 2018.

U.S. Army Master Sergeant Brian Lee Stilwell, 56, of Coweta, Oklahoma, died on December 25, 2017, in Bethesda, Maryland. He was assigned to Company D, 2nd Battalion, 149th Aviation Regiment, 36th Combat Aviation Brigade.

U.S. Army Specialist Avadon Alfred Chaves, 20, of Turlock, California, was killed in action on December 20, 2017, while deployed to Al Asad Airbase, Iraq, during Operation Inherent Resolve.

Sgt. Axel Omar Bonilla Perez, 30, of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, died on December 15, 2017, in Bethesda, Maryland, while serving with the U.S. Army Reserve during Operation Inherent Resolve.

Staff Sergeant David Thomas Brabander, 24, of Anchorage, Alaska, was killed in action on December 11, 2017, in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, while serving with the U.S. Army.

Petty Officer Second Class Derek Damone Mitchem, 34, of Tyler, Texas, was a U.S. Navy sailor serving with Naval Communications Telecommunication Station Bahrain. He died on December 9, 2017, at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.

U.S. Army Corporal Todd Lane McGurn, 20, of Riverside, California, died on November 25, 2017, in Baghdad, Iraq, while serving with the 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment.

Sgt. 1st Class Hughton O'neil Brown, 43, of Brooklyn, New York, was a U.S. Army Reserve engineer. He was killed in action on November 14, 2017, at Camp Buehring, Kuwait.

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Lee Michael Smith, 35, of Arlington, Texas, was a U.S. Army aviator killed in action at Camp Taji, Iraq, on November 11, 2017.

U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Stephen Baxter Cribben, 33, of Simi Valley, California, was killed in Logar Province, Afghanistan, on November 4, 2017.

Chief Warrant Officer 3 Jacob Michael Sims, 36, was a U.S. Army helicopter pilot from Juneau, Alaska, assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. He was killed in action on October 28, 2017, when his MH-60 Black Hawk crashed

U.S. Army Specialist Alexander Wayne Missildine, 20, of Tyler, Texas, died in Salah ad-Din Province, Iraq, on October 1, 2017, while serving in Operation Inherent Resolve.

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Emil Rivera-Lopez, 31, of Tucson, Arizona, was killed in action on August 25, 2017, in the Gulf of Aden, Yemen.

Staff Sergeant Aaron Rhett Butler, 27, of Monticello, Utah, was a U.S. Army Special Forces soldier. He died on August 16, 2017, in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, during Operation Freedom's Sentinel.

U.S. Army Sergeant Roshain Euvince Brooks, 30, of Brooklyn, New York, died on August 13, 2017, from hostile action at Qayyarah Airfield West, Iraq.

U.S. Army Sergeant Allen Levi Stigler Jr., 22, of Arlington, Texas, died on August 13, 2017, from hostile action at Qayyarah Airfield West, Iraq.

U.S. Army Sergeant Jonathon Michael Hunter, 23, of Columbus, Indiana, died on August 2, 2017 in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

David Andrew Board, 49, was a Technical Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force's 130th Maintenance Squadron. He died on August 2, 2017, at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.
