U.S. Navy Lieutenant (junior grade) Sarah Joy Mitchell, 23, of Oakford, Pennsylvania, was killed in action in Aqaba, Jordan, on July 8, 2018, while serving aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109).

Corporal Joseph Maciel, a 20-year-old U.S. Army soldier from South Gate, California, died on July 7, 2018, in Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan, from hostile action.

Petty Officer Second Class Austin Thomas Williams, a 22-year-old sailor from Freeport, Maine, was killed in Juffair, Bahrain on April 5, 2018, while deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
