U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Mecolus Chevette McDaniel, 33, of Fort Hood, Texas, died on March 19, 2011, in Shamul District, Khowst Province, Afghanistan, during Operation Enduring Freedom.

U.S. Army Specialist Rudy Alexander Acosta, 19, of Canyon Country, California, died on March 19, 2011, in Shah Wali Kot, Afghanistan, during Operation Enduring Freedom.

SGT Mickler, Donald Ray Jr, 29, a native of TROTWOOD, OH, died serving in the Active Duty, ARMY, HHT, 4TH SQUADRON, 2ND STRYKER CAVALRY REGIMENT, VILSECK, GERMANY, during Operation Enduring Freedom on March 19, 2011. Cause: HOSTILE.

Master Sergeant Jamal Hasan Bowers, 41, of Raleigh, North Carolina, was a U.S. Army soldier serving with the 4th Military Information Support Group. He died at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, on March 18, 2011.

Lance Corporal Christopher Steele Meis, 20, of Bennett, Colorado, was a U.S. Marine with 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines. He was killed in action in Helmand province, Afghanistan, on March 17, 2011.

Senior Airman Michael John Hinkle II, 24, of Corona, California, was a communications specialist with the U.S. Air Force's 28th Communications Squadron. He died on March 16, 2011, at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.
