Adam Daniel Craig was a 23-year-old from Cherokee, Iowa, who served as a Sergeant in the Iowa Army National Guard. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 1st Squadron, 113th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division, based in Sioux City.
Sergeant Craig died on March 4, 2011, at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, he died from wounds sustained in combat operations in Afghanistan's Laghman province on February 24, 2011.
