Staff Sergeant Eric James Lindstrom, 27, of Flagstaff, Arizona, was a U.S. Army infantryman. He died on July 12, 2009, in Barge Matal, Afghanistan, during Operation Enduring Freedom.

Cpl. Matthew Ryan Lembke, 22, of Tualatin, Oregon, was a U.S. Marine who died on July 10, 2009, at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, from wounds sustained in Afghanistan.
