Sergeant Vorasack Thomas Xaysana was a 30-year-old soldier from Westminster, Colorado. He served with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, based at Fort Hood, Texas.
According to the U.S. Department of Defense, Xaysana died on April 10, 2011, in Kirkuk, Iraq. He was killed by enemy small-arms fire while on patrol. The incident occurred in the northern Iraqi province, an area where U.S. forces continued to face insurgent attacks.
