John Carrillo Jr. was a 20-year-old soldier from Stockton, California. He served as a Specialist with the U.S. Army's Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, based out of Fort Stewart, Georgia.
According to the Department of Defense, Carrillo died on September 24, 2010, in Fallujah, Iraq, from wounds sustained in a non-combat related incident. The military did not release further details on the circumstances.
