Petty Officer Third Class Jason Allen Profitt, 22, of Charlestown, Indiana, was a U.S. Navy sailor assigned to the USS Deyo (DD 989). He was killed in action in Afghanistan on March 17, 2003.

U.S. Marine Private First Class James Robert Dillon Jr., 19, of Grove City, Pennsylvania, was killed in action in Afghanistan on March 13, 2003, during Operation Enduring Freedom.
