Makauniyar Kaddara Book 1 Complete Hausa Novel

A Lonely Journey Begins

“I am sure this is the park where you can find vehicles going to any town you want.”

The tricycle rider spoke while stopping near the motor park and slightly turning his head toward the young girl sitting behind him.

The girl said nothing.

Her hands trembled as she struggled to untie the edge of her wrapper where she had hidden her money tightly.

Finally, she brought out a squeezed five hundred naira note and handed it to him.

The rider collected the money while grumbling quietly under his breath.

Tears continued flowing heavily from the girl’s swollen eyes.

The Young Girl at the Park

At first glance, anyone could easily understand that she was still very young.

She could not be more than fourteen years old.

Although she did not look mentally unstable physically, her behavior and fear made people assume something was wrong with her.

Still, there was no dirt or neglect on her body.

She wiped her tears repeatedly and whispered:

“Allah, I depend only on You. You are the One I seek help from…”

Before she could complete the prayer, a conductor interrupted her.

“My sister, where are you going?”

With her weak voice, she replied:

“Danya.”

Searching for the Way Home

The conductor looked confused because he had never heard of the village before.

After thinking for a while, the girl finally remembered that they once passed through Gozarki on their way from Danya to Katsina.

Immediately, the conductor directed her toward another vehicle that could take her to Gidan Mutum Daya.

From there, she was told she could find another vehicle heading toward Kusada.

The girl thanked him quietly and hurried toward the vehicle.

Fear Inside the Vehicle

She entered the crowded vehicle immediately without waiting for further instructions.

At the back seat, she sat beside a woman carrying two children.

Carefully, she adjusted the curtain beside the window, hoping nobody from Hajiya’s house would see her if they came searching.

Deep inside her heart, she prayed for the vehicle to leave quickly.

Thankfully, within a short time, the vehicle became full and began the journey.

Only after leaving Katsina completely did the conductor begin collecting transport fares.

The Price of Survival

The young girl listened carefully while another passenger argued about the transport fare.

Eventually, the price was settled at three hundred and fifty naira.

Without speaking, the girl handed over four hundred naira — the remaining change from the tricycle rider.

The conductor asked where she was going, and she answered quietly:

“Gidan Mutum Daya.”

He returned fifty naira change to her, which she immediately tied safely inside her wrapper again.

Another Difficult Journey

After arriving at Gidan Mutum Daya close to Maghrib prayer, confusion filled her heart again.

She had never traveled alone before.

Only Hajiya Lanti used to handle such journeys for them.

After struggling to ask around, a bread seller finally directed her toward the vehicles heading to Kusada.

She found several small vehicles lined up beside the road.

A young conductor approached her happily and pointed toward a red vehicle.

“Enter quickly, we only need one more passenger.”

The Last Money She Had

The vehicle was extremely crowded, but because of her small body size, she managed to fit inside.

The journey lasted for a long time because the driver kept stopping at villages to drop and pick passengers.

When they finally arrived, everyone began paying one hundred and fifty naira transport fare.

Fear immediately entered her heart.

The only money remaining with her was eighty naira.

Trembling heavily, she handed the money to the driver and explained her situation.

The driver became angry immediately.

He shouted at her in front of everyone, accusing her of entering the vehicle without enough money.

The Kind Stranger

The girl cried bitterly while kneeling and begging for forgiveness.

Instead of supporting her, many passengers blamed her for not speaking earlier.

Finally, a young man among the passengers felt pity for her and paid the remaining fare.

The girl thanked him repeatedly from the bottom of her heart.

The man advised her never to enter vehicles without enough money again.

After the situation calmed down, she remained with only thirty naira in her possession.

Lost in Kusada

Despite arriving at Kusada, she still did not know how to reach Danya village.

She had never truly entered Kusada before in her life.

Fear prevented her from asking strangers too many questions.

At the same time, a terrible stomach pain continued attacking her repeatedly.

Eventually, she found an empty roadside shed and sat down there weakly.

The pain became so severe that she eventually collapsed on the ground while crying.

Mosquitoes bit her body continuously, but the stomach pain completely overshadowed everything else.

A Night of Hunger and Pain

Before she realized it, night had already covered the town.

The once busy road became almost empty.

Apart from the stomach pain, hunger and thirst tortured her badly.

She had not eaten properly since leaving Hajiya’s house.

Eventually, exhaustion overcame her completely, and she fell asleep on the cold ground.

The Fajr Prayer and New Hope

Very early in the morning, she woke up again because of the terrible stomach pain.

After struggling for some time, the pain reduced slightly.

She performed ablution using water from the nearby mosque and prayed all the missed prayers she had abandoned during her escape.

After finishing, she gathered courage and approached an old tea seller nearby.

Respectfully, she asked him where she could find the road leading to Danya.

The old man smiled kindly and explained that Danya was near Gozarki.

Hearing the name filled her heart with happiness immediately.

The Long Walk to Danya

The tea seller advised her to either wait for motorcycles heading toward Danya or pay a rider thirty naira to take her to Gozarki first.

Because the remaining thirty naira was all she had left, she chose the motorcycle option.

Within a short time, she reached Gozarki.

However, instead of waiting for another motorcycle, she decided to continue the remaining journey by foot.

Her excitement about finally returning home gave her strength despite the hunger and sickness inside her body.

The Painful Final Steps

She continued walking along the lonely dusty road while the cold morning breeze touched her face gently.

Several times, the stomach pain forced her to stop and cry beneath trees before continuing again.

As the sun rose higher, her strength reduced completely.

Then suddenly, from far away, she saw the tall building of their village school standing above the rest of the village houses.

A weak smile appeared across her face immediately.

But before she could continue much further, dizziness overcame her completely.

Slowly, her body collapsed to the ground without consciousness.
