Majnoon Book 1 Complete Hausa Novel

The Mad Man of the Streets

“Mahaukaci! Mahaukaci!”

That was the name many children used while following him around the streets.

Some of them even held his torn clothes while mocking him loudly.

The young man looked around thirty years old.

His hair was rough and scattered, while dirt covered almost every part of his body.

Although he was naturally fair in complexion, the heavy dust and suffering had changed his appearance completely.

His clothes were badly torn, and the harsh sun had damaged his skin.

Yet despite his condition, his handsome face still remained visible.

He continued walking slowly while the children followed behind him singing insulting songs.

Majnoon’s Strange Behavior

Sometimes, whenever the noise became too much, he suddenly turned around and chased the children.

Immediately, they all scattered and ran away in fear.

As he walked along the roadside, he stopped repeatedly to pick empty pure water nylons from refuse dumps.

The children started another mocking song:

“Ga Majnoon uban tanbele!”

Surprisingly, Majnoon seemed happy with the song.

He bent down repeatedly, picked nylons from the ground, and danced excitedly as though the insults entertained him.

Rumaisa Arrives

Not far away, a beautiful young lady walked gently along the road.

She looked about twenty years old and wore decent Hausa clothing made from colorful Ankara fabric with a long hijab that almost touched the ground.

In her hand was a small food flask.

As she approached the street corner, she heard the children singing around Majnoon.

Immediately, fear and sadness entered her heart.

She hurried toward them and chased the children away before facing Majnoon.

Lowering her voice softly, she said:

“Haba! Why are you allowing children to mock you while you dance for them?”

She paused briefly before adding:

“Or do you want me to cancel our marriage?”

Majnoon and Rumaisa

Majnoon quickly shook his head and replied:

“No, I won’t do it again.”

Immediately afterward, he sat down quietly like a frightened child.

Rumaisa smiled gently and sat beside him before handing him the food flask she brought.

“Here is your food. Eat quickly and return the flask before my father comes home.”

Majnoon grabbed the flask eagerly and struggled slightly before opening it.

Inside was rice with meat.

Without wasting time, he began eating quickly using only his hands.

Rumaisa’s Hidden Feelings

Rumaisa stared at him silently with deep pity in her eyes.

Before realizing it, tears had already started falling from her face.

There was something powerful she felt toward Majnoon, but she could not fully understand it.

One part of her heart whispered that it was love.

Another part insisted it was only pity.

Even she could not decide the truth.

A Promise of Marriage

After finishing the food, Majnoon handed the flask back to her.

Rumaisa smiled and said she needed to return home before her father arrived.

Majnoon looked disappointed and begged her to stay so they could continue talking.

She laughed softly and promised they would talk later that night.

Then Majnoon suddenly asked:

“When will we get married?”

Rumaisa smiled playfully and replied:

“Tomorrow.”

Immediately, Majnoon jumped happily while shouting:

“When we marry, I will take you to India in an airplane!”

Rumaisa laughed loudly at his excitement.

The Arrival of Fahad

As Rumaisa approached the entrance of her family compound, she suddenly noticed a black car parked nearby.

Fear immediately filled her heart.

Before she could escape, someone called her name loudly:

“Rumaisa!”

It was Fahad.

Although she tried ignoring him, he rushed out of his car and blocked her path.

Looking desperate and heartbroken, he begged her to listen to him even if only for two minutes.

Tears gathered inside Rumaisa’s eyes immediately.

Every time she saw Fahad, sadness overwhelmed her heart.

Fahad Confesses His Love

Fahad confessed his deep love passionately.

He explained that his heart belonged only to her and that he could no longer imagine life without her.

He promised to change his bad behavior completely if she accepted his love.

But Rumaisa angrily rejected him.

She told him she could never love him even if he were the last man on earth.

Despite her rejection, Fahad continued following and begging her desperately.

Finally, when he refused to move aside, Rumaisa slapped him hard across the face.

Then she shouted:

“I hate seeing you!”

Fahad’s Dangerous Threat

Fahad stood frozen in shock while touching his burning cheek.

Before Rumaisa disappeared completely, he called after her:

“I will never give up on you.”

“Since you refuse to accept me willingly, I will kidnap you.”

After making the threat, he entered his car and drove away immediately.

Rumaisa whispered angrily:

“Mahaukaci.”

Still, his words frightened her deeply.

Rumaisa Faces Her Father

As soon as Rumaisa entered the house, she noticed her father’s car parked outside.

Fear filled her heart immediately.

Slowly, she entered the sitting room after greeting respectfully.

Her father stood waiting angrily.

Before she could escape to her room, he shouted her name loudly.

Terrified, she stopped instantly.

Without warning, he slapped her hard twice across the face.

The Forced Marriage

Rumaisa’s mother rushed out after hearing the sound of the slap.

Meanwhile, Rumaisa cried heavily while holding her mother tightly.

Her father angrily accused her of continuously visiting Majnoon despite repeated warnings.

Then he made a shocking announcement:

“Tomorrow I will marry you off to Faisal.”

Rumaisa broke down completely after hearing Faisal’s name.

To her, there was no man in the world except Majnoon.

She rushed toward her father, knelt before him, and held his legs while crying bitterly.

“Please Abba, I do not love Faisal.”

But her father only replied coldly:

“If you do not love him, then kill him after I marry you to him.”

Then he walked away angrily.

Rumaisa’s Pain

Rumaisa collapsed to the ground crying heavily.

Her mother rushed toward her immediately and held her gently.

Still crying painfully, Rumaisa said:

“Umma, I am finished.”

“Abba wants to force me to marry Faisal.”

“But wallahi, I do not love him.”
