Velasquez, Jorge Luis was 35 and from HOUSTON, TX when he joined the Reserve, NAVY, NECFC BAHRAIN as PO2. Operation Enduring Freedom would take his life.
On May 12, 2012, he died in MANAMA, BAHRAIN. His name entered the Defense Casualty Analysis System that day.
In the final years of OEF, a surge had been deployed and drawn down. The Taliban had outlasted every strategy. The Afghan army the US built would collapse six years after OEF ended.
