CPL Santos, Dave Michael Maliksi, 21 years old, grew up in ROTA, MP and served as Active Duty in the MARINE CORPS with 2D BN 6TH MAR, (RCT-7, I MEF FWD), 2D MAR DIV, CAMP LEJEUNE, NC during Operation Enduring Freedom.
He did not survive OEF. The MARINE CORPS recorded his death on July 16, 2010 in HELMAND PROVINCE, AFGHANISTAN.
In the final years of OEF, a surge had been deployed and drawn down. The Taliban had outlasted every strategy. The Afghan army the US built would collapse six years after OEF ended.
