U.S. Army Specialist Kyle Eugene Gilbert, 24, of Buford, Georgia, died on September 21, 2015, in Bagram, Afghanistan, while serving with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division.

U.S. Air Force Captain Matthew David Roland, 27, was a Special Tactics Officer assigned to the 23rd Special Tactics Squadron. He was killed in a hostile incident at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan, on August 26, 2015.

U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Forrest Brent Sibley, 31, of Pensacola, Florida, was killed by hostile fire on August 26, 2015, at Camp Antonik in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

First Sergeant Peter Andrew Mckenna Jr., 35, of Bristol, Rhode Island, was a U.S. Army Special Forces soldier. He was killed in a hostile attack in Kabul, Afghanistan, on August 8, 2015.

Senior Chief Petty Officer Jason Phillip May, 37, of Chesterfield Township, Michigan, was a U.S. Navy sailor assigned to the USS Essex (LHD 2). He was killed in action in Iraq and Syria on June 29, 2015.

Private First Class Monterrious Travelle Daniel, 19, of Griffin, Georgia, was a U.S. Army soldier who died on June 12, 2015, at Camp Buehring, Kuwait.

Master Sergeant Pablo Allende Ruiz III, 37, of Melbourne, Florida, was a U.S. Army Special Forces soldier. He was killed in action on May 24, 2015, at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan.

Petty Officer Second Class Ryan Daniel Burris, 23, of Lisle, Illinois, was a U.S. Navy sailor with Mobile Communications Team One. He was killed in action on May 21, 2015, at Zayed Military City in the United Arab Emirates.

Petty Officer Third Class Devon J. Doyle, 21, of Alamosa, Colorado, was a U.S. Navy sailor assigned to the guided-missile destroyer USS Farragut (DDG 99). He died on May 16, 2015, in Manama, Bahrain.

Technical Sergeant Anthony Edmund Salazar, 40, of Hermosa Beach, California, served with the U.S. Air Force Reserve's 452nd Civil Engineer Squadron. He was killed in action on April 13, 2015, at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates.

Corporal John Michael Dawson, 22, of Whitinsville, Massachusetts, was a U.S. Army cavalry scout. He was killed in a hostile incident in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, on April 8, 2015.

Maj. Maria Victoria Sanchez, 42, of Bakersfield, California, served with the U.S. Air Force's 60th Medical Support Squadron. She died on February 26, 2015, in Bakersfield, United States.

Kenji Goto was a Japanese freelance journalist who was killed in Syria on January 31, 2015. He was beheaded by the Islamic State militant group (ISIS).

Moisés Sánchez Cerezo was a Mexican journalist for the newspaper La Unión in Veracruz. He was abducted from his home in Medellín de Bravo on January 2, 2015, and was later found dead.
