In BALAD, IRAQ on August 10, 2008, the ARMY lost SGT Gibson, Kenneth Bartlett of CHRISTIANSBURG, VA, 25, serving with COMPANY A, 1ST BATTALION, 14TH INFANTRY, 2 BCT, SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, HI. Cause: HOSTILE.

U.S. Army Private First Class John Alexander Mattox, 23, of Daingerfield, Texas, was killed in action on August 10, 2008, at the Forward Operating Base Bostick aid station in Nuristan Province, Afghanistan.

From MARYVILLE, TN, SGT Ferschke, Michael Harvey Jr served with the MARINE CORPS, A CO, 3D RECON BN, 3D MAR DIV, (I MEF FWD), OKINAWA, JAPAN, and died on August 10, 2008 in TIKRIT, IRAQ. He was 22. Cause: HOSTILE.

From NEW YORK CITY, NY, SGT Ulloa, Jose Enrique served with the ARMY, null, and died on August 9, 2008 in SADR, IRAQ. He was 23. Cause: HOSTILE.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Anthony Mark Carbullido, 25, of Agat, Guam, was a U.S. Navy hospital corpsman. He was killed by hostile fire on August 8, 2008, in Sangatesh, Afghanistan.

In KARMAH, IRAQ on August 7, 2008, the MARINE CORPS lost CPL Mckiski, Adam Thomas of CHERRY VALLEY, IL, 21, serving with 1ST MAINTENANCE BN, CLR-15, 1ST MLG, CAMP PENDLETON, CA.

From WHITEFISH, MT, CPL Trejo, Stewart Silvester served with the MARINE CORPS, 1ST MAINTENANCE BN, CLR-15, 1ST MLG, CAMP PENDLETON, CA, and died on August 7, 2008 in KARMAH, IRAQ. He was 25.

MSG Maybin, Danny Edward, 47, a native of COLUMBIA, SC, died serving in the Reserve, ARMY, HEADQUARTERS, U.S. FORCES COMMAND, FORT MCPHERSON, GA, during Operation Iraqi Freedom on August 7, 2008.

SPC Menke, Jonathan D, age 22, of MADISON, IN ? National Guard, ARMY, 38TH MILITARY POLICE COMPANY, 95TH MP BATTALION, 18TH MP BRIGADE, DANVILLE, IN, ? died on August 4, 2008 in BAGHDAD, IRAQ. Cause: HOSTILE.

At 21, PV2 Hutton, Timothy John of DILLON, MT was serving with the ARMY, COMPANY A, 54TH ENGINEER BATTALION, 20TH BRIGADE, WARNER BARRACKS, GERMANY, when he died in BAGHDAD, IRAQ on August 4, 2008.

Capt. Garrett Tucker Lawton, 31, of Charleston, West Virginia, was a U.S. Marine Corps officer assigned to Marine Special Operations Command. He was killed in action on August 4, 2008, in Afghanistan.

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Errol Melvin James, 29, of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, was killed in action on August 4, 2008, at Forward Operating Base Torkham, Afghanistan.

At 18, SPC Schmidt, Ronald Andrew of NEWTON, KS was serving with the ARMY, BATTERY C, 1ST BATTALION, 161ST FIELD ARTILLERY, KINGMAN, KS, when he died in BALAD, IRAQ on August 3, 2008.

Sgt. Jaime Gonzalez Jr., 40, of Austin, Texas, was a member of the Texas Army National Guard's 436th Chemical Company. He was killed in a hostile incident in Kabul, Afghanistan, on August 3, 2008.

At 21, SPC Dickson, Kevin Randolph of STEELVILLE, MO was serving with the ARMY, GROUP SERVICE SUPPORT COMPANY, 10TH SPECIAL FORCES GROUP, FORT CARSON, CO, when he died in JOINT BASE BALAD, IRAQ on August 2, 2008.
