Conor Gerard Masterson was a 21-year-old soldier from Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. He served as a corporal with Company B, 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, based in Hohenfels, Germany.

On April 8, 2007, Masterson died in Qalat, the capital of Zabul province in southern Afghanistan. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, he was killed by hostile fire.
