Michael Todd Fiscus was a 36-year-old captain in the United States Army. He served with the Headquarters Company, 76th Infantry Brigade, part of the 38th Infantry Division, a National Guard unit based in Indianapolis, Indiana. According to unit records, his service included deployments to Afghanistan, the Philippines, and the Horn of Africa.
On March 26, 2005, Captain Fiscus was killed in Kabul, Afghanistan. The Department of Defense stated his death was the result of a hostile incident. Specific details of the engagement were not widely detailed in public reports, but his death was recorded as occurring in the capital city during Operation Enduring Freedom.
