A Dalilin Ka Ne Book 1 Complete Hausa Novel English Translation

One of the girls was sitting on a chair, holding a small cup and drinking Golden Morn. She had placed a laptop on her thighs and was watching something on it. The other girl was sitting on one of the beds, holding a chemistry textbook and reading.

Zuhra greeted them with a cheerful face.

The young ladies in the room answered her greeting happily.

When they saw people bringing in her belongings, they immediately understood that she was their new roommate.

Quickly, the one sitting on the bed came down and welcomed Zuhra warmly as if she already knew her.

She said, “Sis, welcome. By Allah, we have been waiting for you for a long time.”

She held Zuhra’s hand, and they sat on the edge of the bed.

Zuhra replied happily, “Thank you.”

The girl who welcomed Zuhra dismissed the boys who had helped bring in her belongings, while the other girl only watched them quietly.

The friendly girl said, “My name is Islam Khaleel Adam, and this is my twin sister, Iman Khaleel Adam. We are from Kano, and we live in GRA.”

Zuhra smiled and said, “I am Zuhra Umar Farouq. I am also from Kano. We live around Zaria Road.”

They became very happy when they discovered they were from the same state. Zuhra and Islam began talking as if they had known each other for a long time. Iman, however, continued looking at her laptop without joining the conversation.

Islam did not feel happy about Iman’s attitude, but because she knew her sister’s character, she ignored it.

It was there that they discovered that Zuhra and Islam were studying the same course, Biochemistry. Iman was studying Biomathematics. From there, they continued their conversation happily.

Islam Welcomes Zuhra

Iman, who was drinking Golden Morn, said, “Sis, come and let us drink Golden Morn.”

Islam said, “Haba, sis. What is wrong with preparing another one for her?”

Then Islam turned to Zuhra and said, “Sis, you came at the right time. We also just returned from Kaduna not long ago. We have not cooked food yet, and the restaurant is far from the hostel. But let me prepare something for you.”

Zuhra smiled and said, “Alhamdulillah. By Allah, I am not hungry.”

Islam brought out her timetable, and they began checking it together. It was as if they had known each other before. Since Islam and Iman had already spent three weeks in school, they knew the venues where lectures were held.

Then Zuhra’s Nokia phone began ringing. When she saw Baba’s name on the screen, she quickly answered.

They greeted each other, and Baba welcomed her to school. She also spoke with Mama because Baba was at home. They prayed for her again and again before ending the call.

Islam kept admiring Zuhra’s beauty. To her, Zuhra looked almost like an Arab girl. Iman, on the other hand, was not talkative like Islam. Islam was naturally friendly with everyone, and she was also intelligent. That was why their elder brother was closer to her.

In the evening, they went to the restaurant to eat. Islam paid for their food. After they finished, they returned to the hostel as if they had always been friends.

After Maghrib prayer, Islam brought out the notes they had written before Zuhra arrived and explained them to her very well.

Islam then asked, “Please, sis, does Zuhra not look like Sajeeda Abba?”

Iman replied, “I have also been seeing the resemblance since she arrived.”

Zuhra asked, “Who is Sajeeda Abba?”

Iman answered, “She is a friend of ours from Turkish International College in Abuja. But she is Arab.”

Islam added, “The only difference is that you have dimples, while she does not.”

Zuhra did not say anything because she was already used to hearing people say she was beautiful.

The First Night in the Hostel

At night, Islam and Iman each brought out their laptops and began watching something. Zuhra brought out her Biology textbook and started reading.

Islam said, “Sis, come and watch with us. Tomorrow we can read. You should rest today at least.”

Zuhra had no choice but to keep her book aside and join them. They were watching a film titled Marlin.

The First Lecture Day

The next day was Monday. Since Zuhra and Islam had a chemistry lecture from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., they were the first to prepare.

Iman prepared breakfast for them. She made tea and fried eggs.

That is life. From the first glance, anyone could tell that Islam and Iman were from a wealthy family because of the way they dressed and the way they spent money. Allah had blessed them with wealth and beauty. They were not extremely fair-skinned, but they were beautiful. Surprisingly, they were the ones who kept admiring Zuhra’s beauty.

Zuhra finished preparing neatly. Then she picked up her hijab and wore it with a niqab.

Islam wore a long red Bahrain-style dress, wrapped a black veil around herself, and picked up a matching bag and black shoes. She looked as if she was going to a wedding.

When they saw that Zuhra had worn her hijab, Islam said, “Of course, you must cover this beautiful face so you do not cause traffic for us on the way.”

Iman smiled and said, “Sis, you are right, by Allah.”

Zuhra said, “You people are really funny. So now you will keep teasing me? Did I say you will cause traffic? Why only me?”

Islam replied, “By Allah, we are not joking, sis.”

They left together. At the gate, they entered an Adaidaita Sahu and headed to the lecture venue.
