From NEWNAN, GA, CAPT Whitlock, Nicholas Schade, serving with 34TH SPECIAL OPERATIONS SQUADRON, HURLBURT FIELD, FL, was 29 years old when he deployed with the AIR FORCE to Afghanistan, Philippines, Horn of Africa.
On February 18, 2012, he died in NEAR CAMP LEMONNIER, DJIBOUTI. His name entered the Defense Casualty Analysis System that day.
In the final years of OEF, a surge had been deployed and drawn down. The Taliban had outlasted every strategy. The Afghan army the US built would collapse six years after OEF ended.
