Their Story
Serving as CPL Vargas, Julio, from SYLMAR, CA, at age 23, with 3D AA BN, (RCT-7, I MEF FWD), 1ST MAR DIV, CAMP PENDLETON, CA, he went to Afghanistan, Philippines, Horn of Africa with the MARINE CORPS. He did not come home.
On July 20, 2010, the MARINE CORPS lost CPL Vargas, Julio in HELMAND PROVINCE, AFGHANISTAN. He was 23. The MARINE CORPS recorded the cause as HOSTILE.
