Their Story
CAPT Siebert, Todd Michael, 34 years old, grew up in BADEN, PA and served as Active Duty in the MARINE CORPS with H&S CO, 3D BN, 6TH MAR, (RCT-6, II MEF FWD), 2D MAR DIV, CAMP LEJEUNE, NC during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He did not survive OIF. The MARINE CORPS recorded his death on February 16, 2007 in AR RAMADI, IRAQ, from HOSTILE.
The years 2005?2007 were OIF's deadliest. Sectarian violence surged after the 2006 bombing of the al-Askari shrine in Samarra. American troops were caught between militias, insurgents, and a government that barely functioned.
The MARINE CORPS classified his death as "HOSTILE" ? a category that matters to the families who must make sense of it. His name is documented in the Defense Casualty Analysis System at https://dcas.dmdc.osd.mil/dcas/app/conflictCasualties/oif.
