SPC Seals, Joshua Michael, 21 years old, grew up in PORTER, OK and served as National Guard in the ARMY with COMPANY F, 700TH SUPPORT BATTALION, 45TH INFANTRY BRIGADE COMBAT TEAM, TULSA, OK during Operation Enduring Freedom.
Killed on August 16, 2011 in FOB LIGHTNING, AFGHANISTAN, Seals, Joshua Michael was one of the 2356 Americans the country lost in Operation Enduring Freedom.
In the final years of OEF, a surge had been deployed and drawn down. The Taliban had outlasted every strategy. The Afghan army the US built would collapse six years after OEF ended.
