SRA Scholten, Julian Seiji, 26 years old, grew up in UPPER MARLBORO, MD and served as Active Duty in the AIR FORCE with 25TH INTELLIGENCE SQUADRON, HURLBURT FIELD, FL during Operation Enduring Freedom.
On February 18, 2012, he died in NEAR CAMP LEMONNIER, DJIBOUTI. His name entered the Defense Casualty Analysis System that day.
In the final years of OEF, a surge had been deployed and drawn down. The Taliban had outlasted every strategy. The Afghan army the US built would collapse six years after OEF ended.
