Alex Joseph Ram was a Specialist in the U.S. Army, assigned to Troop B, 2nd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, based at Fort Carson, Colorado. He was from Rancho Cucamonga, California, and was 20 years old when he deployed to the Middle East.
On February 1, 2022, Ram died in Tell Beydar, Syria. The U.S. Department of Defense stated he was killed while conducting operations in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. No further details about the specific incident were publicly released by the military.
