Chief Warrant Officer 3 Bruce Edward Price, 37, of Chevy Chase, Maryland, was a U.S. Army Special Forces soldier. He died on May 15, 2004, in Kandahar, Afghanistan, during Operation Enduring Freedom.

Bruce Edward Price was a 37-year-old Chief Warrant Officer 3 from Chevy Chase, Maryland. He served with Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. His unit was part of Special Operations Command Central (SOCCENT), deployed to Afghanistan.
On May 15, 2004, Price was killed in Kandahar province. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device (IED) while he was on patrol. The attack was classified as a hostile action.
Price's death occurred during Operation Enduring Freedom, the U.S.-led military campaign in Afghanistan that began in October 2001. In 2004, the conflict was in a phase focused on counterinsurgency and stabilization operations, with frequent attacks by Taliban and other insurgent forces using IEDs against coalition troops.
The Pentagon announced his death the following day. He was reportedly the 155th U.S. service member to die in Afghanistan since the start of the war. His remains were returned to the United States.
Chief Warrant Officer 3 Price is memorialized on the Afghanistan War casualty lists and at the U.S. Army Special Forces Command memorial. His name is inscribed on the Special Forces Memorial Wall at Fort Bragg.
