Their Story
MSGT Poirier, David Lucien, 52 years old, grew up in SALEM, NH and served as National Guard in the AIR FORCE with 157TH OPERATIONS SUPPORT SQUADRON, PEASE ANG, NH (AMC) during Operation Enduring Freedom.
He did not survive OEF. The AIR FORCE recorded his death on February 28, 2014 in AL UDEID AB, QATAR.
In the final years of OEF, a surge had been deployed and drawn down. The Taliban had outlasted every strategy. The Afghan army the US built would collapse six years after OEF ended.
