Their Story
Jeffrey Allen Mclochlin was a 45-year-old Sergeant Major from Rochester, Indiana. He served with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 152nd Infantry Regiment, part of Task Force Phoenix, a unit focused on training Afghan security forces. The Indiana National Guard soldier was a senior non-commissioned officer with decades of military experience.
On July 5, 2006, Mclochlin was killed at Bagram Airfield, the large U.S. military base north of Kabul. According to U.S. Department of Defense reports, his death was the result of a hostile attack.
