Terry Edward Honeycutt Jr. was a 19-year-old Marine from Waldorf, Maryland. He served as a Lance Corporal with the 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, based at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. His unit was deployed to Afghanistan as part of Regimental Combat Team 1 under the I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).
According to the Department of Defense, Honeycutt was wounded by hostile action in Helmand province, Afghanistan, in late October 2010. He was evacuated for treatment to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, a major U.S. military hospital for casualties from the Middle East. He died there from his wounds on October 27, 2010.
Honeycutt's death occurred during Operation Enduring Freedom, the U.S.-led military campaign in Afghanistan.
