Staff Sergeant Stacy Andru Green was a 34-year-old Marine from Alexander City, Alabama. He served with the 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2, of the II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), based at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
According to U.S. Department of Defense casualty reports, Green died on December 10, 2010, in Helmand province, Afghanistan. The official cause was listed as hostile action. No further specific details regarding the incident were publicly released by the military.
