Jeremy Pat Faulkner was a 23-year-old soldier from Griffin, Georgia. He served as a Private First Class with Company C, 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
According to the U.S. Department of Defense, Faulkner died on March 29, 2011, in Sarkani, a district in Afghanistan's eastern Kunar Province. The official casualty report listed the cause as hostile action. Media reports from the time indicate his unit was engaged in combat operations in the volatile region near the Pakistan border.
