Maj. Duane William Dively, 43, of Rancho California, California, was a U.S. Air Force officer assigned to the 1st Reconnaissance Squadron at Beale AFB. He was killed near Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates, on June 22, 2005.

On June 22, 2005, Dively was killed near Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates. According to the Department of Defense, he died from injuries sustained in a non-combat vehicle accident. The Air Force did not release further details on the specific circumstances of the crash.
Dively's death occurred during Operation Enduring Freedom, the U.S.-led military campaign that began in October 2001 following the September 11 attacks. The operation's initial focus was Afghanistan, but its scope expanded to include counter-terrorism activities across multiple theaters, including the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula.
