Koran Pulido Contreras was a 21-year-old soldier from Lawndale, California. He served as a Specialist with Company C, 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, based at Fort Drum, New York.
