David Scott Connolly was a 37-year-old Major in the U.S. Army Reserve, assigned to the 1173rd Transportation Battalion (Terminal) based in Brockton, Massachusetts. A resident of Boston, his service reportedly included deployments to Afghanistan, the Philippines, and the Horn of Africa.
On April 6, 2005, Major Connolly was killed in Ghazni province, Afghanistan. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device (IED) while he was on patrol.
