The Yemen conflict is an ongoing multi-sided war that began in September 2014 when Houthi forces took control of the capital, Sanaa. A military coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates intervened in March 2015 to support the internationally recognized government. The United Nations estimated in 2021 that the conflict had resulted in over 377,000 deaths from both direct and indirect causes, with millions displaced.
