Their Story

Philip P. Clark was a 19-year-old from Gainesville, Florida, who enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He deployed to Afghanistan as a member of the 1st Battalion, 6th Marines, Regimental Combat Team 7, part of the 1st Marine Division (Forward) under I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).

According to U.S. Department of Defense casualty reports, Lance Corporal Clark died on May 18, 2010, from wounds sustained in a hostile incident at Camp Dwyer, a forward operating base in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. The Marine Corps listed his cause of death as hostile.
