Michael Andrew Bock was a 26-year-old Staff Sergeant from Leesburg, Florida. He served with the 3rd Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force Forward, based out of Twentynine Palms, California.

According to U.S. Department of Defense casualty reports, Bock died on August 13, 2010, in Helmand province, Afghanistan. The official cause was listed as hostile action. No further operational details of the incident were publicly released by the Marine Corps.
