Their Story
Cody Allen Board was born and raised in McKinney, Texas, a city north of Dallas. He enlisted in the United States Army and was assigned as an infantryman to Alpha Company, 1st Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, operating as part of Task Force Dragoon.
On October 4, 2010, PFC Board was on a mounted patrol in Kandahar province, a major focus of coalition operations at the time. His Stryker vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device.
