Joshua Charles Blaney was a 25-year-old sergeant from Matthews, North Carolina. He served with Company D, 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, based in Vicenza, Italy, as part of the U.S. Army's contribution to Operation Enduring Freedom.
