Michael Chad Bailey was a 29-year-old Marine corporal from Park Hills, Missouri. He served with the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, based out of Twentynine Palms, California. His service included deployments to Afghanistan, the Philippines, and the Horn of Africa.
On June 16, 2010, Bailey was killed in Helmand province, a volatile region in southern Afghanistan. According to the Marine Corps, his death was the result of hostile action. Specific details of the incident were not publicly released by the Department of Defense.
