Anderson, Billy Gene

Billy Gene Anderson was a 20-year-old soldier from Alexandria, Tennessee. He served as a Private (PV2) with Company A, 508th Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was deployed to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

On May 17, 2010, Anderson was killed at Forward Operating Base Todd, located in the volatile Paktia province near the Afghan-Pakistani border. According to U.S. Department of Defense casualty reports, his death was the result of a hostile incident. No further specific details of the engagement were publicly released.
