Kursum Book 1 Complete Hausa Novel

Kursum frowned and hissed.

“You had better stay away from love while you still can,” she warned. “Men cannot always be trusted. For all you know, this guy might be nothing but a player.”

Sumy shook her head.

“Not my Habib. I know he loves me. We have even agreed to meet tomorrow. Please, Kursum, help me and come with me tomorrow, my sweet sister.”

Meanwhile, Yazid was lying comfortably in the large hotel room where he was staying. From the way he was speaking, it was obvious that he was on the phone.

“Come on, Zee, please calm down. I already told you I would be back within four days. You are putting too much pressure on me.”

Zee replied, “But Ya Yazid, you were supposed to return yesterday. Wallahi, I have missed you so much. Kano has become unbearable without you.”

“Yesterday I even went to your mother’s house and spent the whole day there hoping I might see you, but nothing happened. And all your phones were switched off.”

“Please forgive me, my love,” Yazid said. “I will return as soon as I finish what I came here to do. I have just been very busy.”

“Alright,” Zee replied, “but you are promising me that you will return within four days, right?”

“Yes.”

He ended the call.

Yazid sighed to himself.

“Zee, your demands are becoming too much. But I really must return because Dad does not even know I am away from home.”

The Boarding School

There was a large and extremely expensive school attended mostly by children from wealthy and influential families.

It was not an orphanage, but it was also not an ordinary day school or a typical boarding school.

Most of the students were children whose parents were too busy to give them proper attention.

Some were brought to the school while they were still very young and remained there until they completed their senior year at around eighteen years old. Only then would some of their parents finally come to take them home.

The director of the school was Princess Hafsatu.

She was extremely greedy and obsessed with wealth. She cared little about what happened to the students once they became adults.

If a student reached eighteen and their parents failed to come for them, she could simply arrange a marriage for the girl, claiming that her parents had forgotten about her.

Kursum and Sumy Go Out

It was the weekend, and the students were allowed to leave the hostel and go into town.

Anyone who saw Kursum and Sumy together could immediately tell that they were very close friends.

Kursum asked, “Are you sure this boyfriend of yours is really going to come? I hope he is not going to disappoint you.”

Sumy laughed.

“Come on. I trust him one hundred percent. Maybe he is already there waiting for me.”

They had just arrived at the meeting place when Sumy suddenly exclaimed, “Oh no! I forgot the ring he gave me yesterday. I left it on my bed, and I promised him I would never take it off.”

She turned to Kursum.

“Please wait here for me. Let me quickly return to the hostel and get it.”

Kursum glared at her.

“Honestly, you have no sense at all. Just because of a ring, you want to go all the way back?”

“Fine, go. I will stay here, but if you take too long, I am leaving.”

Sumy smiled and hurried away.

Kursum remained there alone for almost ten minutes.

Then she heard a smooth male voice greeting her from behind.

She turned around.

Their eyes met.

For a moment, her breath almost disappeared because the young man standing before her was extraordinarily handsome.

He gave her a charming but deceptive smile.

Kursum immediately hardened her expression.

“Excuse me, do I know you?”

Yazid replied, “No, you do not know me. In fact, I am a stranger here. I only arrived in town today. My name is Kabir.”

He continued smiling as he moved as though he wanted to pull her closer to himself.

Before he could realise what was happening, Kursum slapped him across the face.

“Do I look like some irresponsible girl to you?” she snapped. “Who do you think you are that you would try to touch me?”

Yazid simply stared at her in shock.

Before he could respond, Sumy arrived with an angry expression.

“What is happening here?” she demanded.

She pulled Kursum aside.

“This is the guy I told you about. I saw you about to insult him.”

Kursum looked at her seriously.

“Sis, stay away from this guy. He told me his name is Kabir. I do not trust him at all. He looks like someone with a hidden agenda.”

Sumy frowned and looked at Kursum as though she had completely lost her mind.

“You are only jealous because you do not have a boyfriend.”

“But you cannot separate me from him. I have only just started loving him, and we are even going to get married.”

“And his name is Habib, not Kabir.”

She hissed angrily and walked away, leaving Kursum standing there in disbelief.

Yazid Continues His Deception

Yazid looked at Sumy and complained, “Your friend is very disrespectful. The moment she saw me, she started insulting me.”

Sumy quickly apologised.

“Please forgive her. Do not be angry. She does not know you.”

“Alright, forget about it,” Yazid replied.

Then he held her hand and asked, “So how are you?”

As he spoke, he kept licking his lips and narrowing his eyes suggestively.

“I am fine,” Sumy replied. “Do you live here in town?”

“Yes. Our house is not far from here,” he lied. “My parents are dead, so I have been living with my uncle since I was young.”

“Oh my God,” Sumy said sympathetically. “May Allah have mercy on them.”

She immediately felt even more sorry for him, and the affection she already had for him grew stronger.

Yazid continued, “Right now, I have nobody in this world except my uncle… and you.”

He pulled her closer.

“Please, Sumy, do not reject me. I love you with all my heart. Will you marry me?”

Without hesitation, Sumy answered, “Yes.”

It was almost as if she had been waiting all along for him to ask.

Yazid then said, “But how are we going to make this happen? You told me your parents live in Kano, and I want you to become my wife as soon as possible.”

Sumy smiled confidently.

“There is no problem. My father only comes to visit me once a year, and he loves me very much. If he sees that I have married someone I truly love, he will be happy for me.”

“All you need to do now is speak to the director of our school, Princess Hafsatu. She knows what should be done.”

“After that, you can officially send people to ask for my hand in marriage. If you want, the marriage could even be arranged as early as tomorrow.”

Yazid stared at her in disbelief.

Inside his heart, he thought, This girl is unbelievably naive.

His true intention was completely different.

All he wanted was to get what he desired from her and disappear afterward, making sure she never saw him again.

But aloud he said, “Do you really think there will be no problem? Because I want us to marry within three days. I do not think I can continue living without you.”

Sumy replied, “There will be no problem. Princess Hafsatu knows exactly what to do.”

Yazid escorted her back to the school gate.

They said goodbye, and Sumy went inside while he walked away feeling strangely excited about the situation he had created.
