West, Theodore Mitchell
Theodore Mitchell West, 23, of Richmond, Kentucky, was a U.S. Army Private First Class. He died in Baghdad, Iraq, on November 29, 2006.

Theodore Mitchell West was a 23-year-old from Richmond, Kentucky. He served as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army, assigned to Company B, 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, based at Fort Hood, Texas.
On November 29, 2006, West was killed in Baghdad, Iraq. According to the Department of Defense, he died from wounds sustained when his unit came under enemy small-arms fire during combat operations.
West's death occurred during Operation Iraqi Freedom, a conflict that began with a U.S.-led invasion in March 2003. By late 2006, the war was marked by intense sectarian violence and insurgent attacks, particularly in the capital region.
His death was announced by the Department of Defense in a press release dated December 1, 2006. He was survived by his family in Kentucky.
West is memorialized on the Iraq War Veterans Memorial and is listed among the more than 4,400 U.S. service members who died during the conflict.
