Their Story
Kevin Scott Kana Wessel was a 20-year-old specialist in the United States Army. He was assigned to Company A, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, based at Fort Stewart, Georgia, and deployed as part of Task Force Baghdad.
On April 19, 2005, Wessel was killed in Baghdad. According to the Department of Defense, he died from hostile fire. Specific details of the engagement were not widely reported in national news archives.
