Michael Spencer Weger was a 30-year-old soldier from Rochester, New York. He served on active duty in the U.S. Army as a Specialist with Bravo Company, 20th Engineer Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, based at Fort Hood, Texas.
