Sgt. Brandon Lee Wallace, 27, of Saint Louis, Missouri, was a U.S. Army Reserve soldier with the 1451st Transportation Company. He died in Fallujah, Iraq, on April 14, 2007, from hostile action.

Their Story

Brandon Lee Wallace was a 27-year-old sergeant from Saint Louis, Missouri, serving in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was assigned to the 1451st Transportation Company, based in Boone, North Carolina, a unit responsible for moving personnel and equipment.

On April 14, 2007, Sgt. Wallace was killed in the city of Fallujah, located in Iraq's volatile Anbar province. According to the Department of Defense, his death was the result of hostile action. Specific details of the incident, such as whether it involved an improvised explosive device, small arms fire, or indirect fire, were not publicly released in official casualty reports.

Wallace's death occurred during a period of intense sectarian violence in Iraq, following the 2006 bombing of the al-Askari shrine in Samarra. The years 2005-2007 were among the deadliest for U.S. forces during Operation Iraqi Freedom, with Fallujah remaining a focal point of insurgent activity despite major U.S. offensives there in 2004.

His death was recorded in the Defense Casualty Analysis System on the day he died. Local media in Saint Louis reported his passing, noting he was survived by family including his mother.

Sgt. Wallace is memorialized on the Iraq War section of the Saint Louis Soldiers Memorial and on online veterans' memorials. His unit, the 1451st Transportation Company, continued its deployment following his death.
