Their Story
The ARMY, 708TH MEDICAL COMPANY (GA), 108TH MULTI-FUNCTIONAL MEDICAL BATTALION, NORTH RIVERSIDE, IL, sent Sietsema, Ashley of MELROSE PARK, IL, then 20, ? SPC ? to Iraq.
She did not survive OIF. The ARMY recorded her death on November 12, 2007 in ALI AL SALEM, KUWAIT.
The years 2005?2007 were OIF's deadliest. Sectarian violence surged after the 2006 bombing of the al-Askari shrine in Samarra. American troops were caught between militias, insurgents, and a government that barely functioned.
The ARMY recorded her death in the line of duty. Her name is documented in the Defense Casualty Analysis System at https://dcas.dmdc.osd.mil/dcas/app/conflictCasualties/oif.
