Reza Barani

Reza Barani was a first-grade student at the Shajareh Tayyebeh primary school in Minab, a city in Iran's southern Hormozgan province. He was seven years old. His first name, Reza, is common in Iran and references Imam Reza, the eighth Shia Imam, whose shrine is a major pilgrimage site.

On the morning of February 28, 2026, a missile struck the Shajareh Tayyebeh school building. Reza Barani was killed in the attack. According to initial reports from Iranian state media, the strike occurred during school hours. The precise number of casualties from the incident was disputed.
