Parsa Mokhtari-nasab, 12, was a schoolboy killed when US missiles struck the Shajareh Tayyebeh primary school in Minab, Hormozgan province, on 28 February 2026.
Their Story
Parsa Mokhtari-nasab was a 12-year-old boy attending the Shajareh Tayyebeh (The Good Tree) primary school in Minab, Hormozgan province, southern Iran. He was killed on 28 February 2026 when US missiles struck the school during the opening hours of the US-Israeli military offensive against Iran.
At 12, Parsa was among the oldest of the schoolchildren killed in the strike. His name appears on the verified list of 61 victims published by Middle East Eye on 4 March 2026, compiled from Iran's Gymnastics Federation records, a handwritten casualty list, and the Tasnim news agency.
The school was a two-storey building described in contemporary accounts as painted with pink flowers and green leaves. It served children from both military families and local residents. The building was struck three times; the roof collapsed on students during class. At least 165 people were killed in total.
Investigations by The New York Times, CBC, NPR, BBC Verify, Bellingcat, and Reuters all concluded the US military was most likely responsible. Eight munitions experts confirmed to The Washington Post that debris was consistent with a Tomahawk cruise missile. US Central Command's preliminary internal investigation found that outdated intelligence contributed to the strike, which hit the school adjacent to ? but separated from ? an IRGC naval facility.
