Their Story
Nick Bravo-Regules was a 20-year-old soldier from Largo, Florida. He served as a specialist with Battery A, 2nd Battalion, 43rd Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, based at Fort Bliss, Texas.
On June 23, 2020, Bravo-Regules died from wounds sustained in a non-combat incident at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan. The U.S. Department of Defense stated the incident was under investigation. No further details about the circumstances were publicly released.
Bravo-Regules was deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, the U.S.-led military intervention against the Islamic State (ISIS) in Iraq and Syria. His unit's mission at the Jordanian air base was part of the broader coalition effort, which, following the territorial defeat of the ISIS caliphate in 2019, had shifted to a training and advisory role.
