Asna Raisi

Asna Raisi was a 12-year-old girl from the city of Minab in Iran's southern Hormozgan province. She attended the Shajareh Tayyebeh school, where she was reportedly among the older students in her class.

On the morning of February 28, 2026, the Shajareh Tayyebeh school building was struck by a missile. Asna Raisi was killed in the attack. According to casualty documentation, she was among the oldest children named as a victim. A ten-year-old boy, Mohammadhatam Raisi, was also reported killed.

The strike occurred in the context of a wider regional conflict that escalated in February 2026. The attack on Minab was part of a series of reported cross-border missile and drone exchanges. The Iranian government stated the school was hit during an operation targeting what it described as militant bases in the area.

Iranian state media reported the incident, listing the names of child casualties. Local officials in Hormozgan province confirmed the deaths and declared a day of mourning. Images published showed damage to the school's structure.
